Tropical Storm Karen is creating problems for the two Carnival ships homeported at New Orleans, both of which were scheduled to turn around there this weekend. This morning Carnival decided to keep both Carnival Elation and Carnival Conquest at sea safely out of the way of the storm and plan Monday turnarounds instead, but even that may be delayed. More

Crystal Cruises today said that longtime president and COO Gregg Michel had resigned effective October 15, and he will be replaced by Edie Bornstein.

Port Everglades (at Ft. Lauderdale) received $16.5 million in state funds that will enable to the port to complete a couple of projects that will benefit the cruise industry.
