Royal Caribbean launched another facet of their Come Seek marketing campaign today. The advertising is aimed at Millennials and wants show them that a cruise isn’t boring because it’s packed with lots of their type of fun, and they remind you, “This is not a cruise.”
This latest prong of the campaign is called Come Seek Live, with the “live” being live broadcasts from Anthem of the Seas and ashore (mostly ashore) via the Periscope app for sharing live video.

Woman Overboard from Norwegian Pearl
Another person has jumped off a cruise ship in the Caribbean. This time it was a 24-year-old woman who was a passenger aboard Norwegian Pearl. Shortly before 7pm Thursday evening, the woman was seen intentionally going overboard from a stateroom balcony.

Azamara Plans Ahead
If you’re planning a trip on Azamara Club Cruises, you usually need some time to plan and get ready. For this type of trip, most people like to do a little research. And Azamara is accommodating that need. The boutique line just opened their 2018 programs for sale.
The two ships will sail 69 voyages that call at some 228 ports in 64 countries. In the true spirit of discovery, 30 ports will be new ports of call.
Included in the programs will be a 102-day “World Journey” from Australia (in April) to England (also sold in segments). It alone calls at 61 ports in 29 countries.

New Orleans Ready to Expand
Last year, New Orleans handled more than a million cruise passengers. Buoyed by that and cruise lines now increasing capacity at the Crescent City, the Port of New Orleans is making plans to expand their cruise capacity.
In his State of the Port speech earlier this week, port president Gary LaGrange said a third cruise terminal will be completed at Poland Avenue by the end of 2017.

The Next Chapter
MSC Divina arrived in Miami today to begin the next chapter of MSC’s North American story. As one of the line’s newest and largest megaliners, the ship will be the next chapter in the story of MSC’s North American expansion.
While MSC Divina has been here before, it was a seasonal operation. Now the giant 139,400-ton ship is based in South Florida year round.

Viking Orders Two More
Fincantieri and Viking have reached a preliminary agreement to build two more 47,800-ton ships for the Viking Ocean brand. When delivered, the ships will bring the Viking Ocean fleet to six ships.
The order is subject to finalization when technical and financial conditions are agreed to. The additional ships would be delivered in mid-2018 and late-2020.

Lucky Lady
A 43-year-old American woman fell from Windstar’s Star Breeze (the former Seabourn Spirit) early Sunday morning (1:40am) while it was sailing off the coast of Italy between Elba and Giglio.
According to the harbor master at Portoferraio, Emilio Casale, where the ship docked after the incident, the woman fell from a deck about 15 meters above the water at the stern of the ship.
