Fincantieri Lays Keel for Seabourn Encore

The next Seabourn ship is on the way. Fincantieri laid the keel today for Seabourn Encore at their Marghera yard.

The 41,700-ton vessel is a progression of the Odyssey-class built by T. Mariotti, but it will carry 600 passengers, 150 more than the Odyssey-class, and have one additional deck and expanded public spaces.

First They Decided What They Want to Do, and Now They Decide Who They Want to Do It

After announcing they would be adding 15 single cabins to Queen Mary 2 and 30 more Britannia Club cabins, Cunard said today they have chosen a design firm to draw up the plans.

London-based SMC Design has been appointed to lead the project.
