The technology removes the vast majority of pollutants from the ships' exhaust gases, enabling the ships of Carnival Corp meet new environmental regulations which limit the amount of sulfur content of emissions to less than 0.1%.
The system works by using filters and seawater to “scrub” the ships' emissions.
