Fathom Cruises said today they have received approval to operate two additional sailings to Cuba in October and November, citing “strong consumer demand” for Cuba.

It shouldn't be any surprise that there's demand for Fathom's Cuba program, since they currently have a monopoly from the US, but the more interesting story is where Fathom's ship isn't sailing.

Carnival Triumph “Booked Up” for Kids' Event

Earlier this week 100 kids from grades 2-4 at Kipp Central City Primary, an elementary school in New Orleans, boarded Carnival Triumph for a day of fun thanks to their reading achievements over the summer. The event was sponsored by Carnival Cruise Line, the New Orleans Saints and Scholastic Book Fairs.

Sail with a Top Chef

Fans of Bravo's Top Chef TV program can ring in 2017 with several of the “cheftestants” aboard a special New Year's sailing of Celebrity Silhouette on December 30. During the cruise there will be a number of opportunities for foodies to interact with the cheftestants.

Vote for President, Then Sail with a President

Azamara Club Cruises has scheduled their first loyalty program cruise with the line's president and CEO, Larry Pimentel, for members of Le Club Voyage.

The sailing will be this fall on a 10-night Arabian Gulf and Emirates cruise aboard Azamara Journey. The cruise sails round trip from Dubai on October 24.

Search Suspended

The US Coast Guard says they suspended their search at 7:32 this evening for the woman who went overboard from Carnival Ecstasy yesterday morning.
