What They Didn't Mention

In case you've missed just about any newscast in the last couple of days, Norwegian Breakaway encountered extremely  heavy seas as it sailed through winter storm Grayson on January 4 while it returned to New York from the Caribbean. Newscasts are showing lots of video of wet places in the ship as rain blew in through the various sliding doors, and there are numerous accounts of how rough the seas were.

Tried and True

A new advertising campaign is about to be launched by Carnival Cruise Line, and it's going to use a tried and true device that Carnival has used many times before in their ads: the customer testimonial. Each time they use it, they give it a new twist, and the new campaign by their new ad agency, Anomaly, is no different.

The campaign itself revolves around the theme that fun is a result of the choices you make, and you choose what's personally going to be fun for you.

Closer to the Edge than We Thought

The shipbuilding process has become so precise and exacting, that the builders and their customers can tell very quite accurately if they are falling behind or are running ahead of schedule and how much. This has been so perfected that they can now quite confidently tell almost a year before delivery that they will be able to deliver the ship early.

That has enabled STX France to notify Celebrity of Celebrity Edge's early delivery, and the line has now moved the ship's first sailing back from December 16 (2018) to November 21.
