Return to Normal

Royal Caribbean has set dates to return to San Juan and St. Maarten in addition to St. Thomas, which they announced plans for earlier. They also updated the status on a couple of ports that still aren't ready for their return.

Any Port in a Storm

St. Croix hasn’t exactly had a teeming with cruise ships for some time, but local media on the island is reporting that the port is facing a summer without any cruise ship calls at all.

The US Virgin Island has no calls scheduled for June, July or August.

* A Walk Down the Aisle that Begins Going up the Gangway
When Cunard announced the change of registry of their ships from Britain to Bermuda, one of the benefits was to be the opportunity for passengers to be able to be married at sea aboard the Cunard liners by the captain.
   Today, Cunard provided the details and said the program will begin in May.


* Costa Concordia Developments
Divers in Italy today located eight more bodies in the wreckage of Costa Concordia.
   Meanwhile, the Italian prosecutor said today that seven additional Costa employees are under investigation. The group consisted of four officers from the ship and three shoreside employees, including Roberto Ferrarini, head of Costa’s crisis unit. He was on the phone with the ship's captain the night of the incident. The move is viewed to be somewhat of a procedural matter since there special evidentiary hearing that will commence shortly, and none of the seven have been arrested or charged.
