AIDAperla Begins LNG Operation in the Med
AIDAperla has been cleared to begin regular operations on its Mediterranean program using LNG (Liquified Natural Gas). It will be cut over gradually over the next several weeks. It will be fueled with LNG in Barcelona, Marseille and Civitavecchia. Carnival is currently in discussion with officials in Palma de Mallorca to be able to fuel there also.

Welcome Home
Last Saturday the newest member of the AIDA fleet, AIDAperla, returned to its home port of Palma de Mallorca for the first time since the official naming and maiden voyage. Awaiting the arrival was a local Mallorcan delegation to welcome the ship back to its summer home, which is a favorite destination of German vacationers.

AIDA sets AIDAperla Christening
AIDA, Carnival's German brand, will name the next ship at Palma de Mallorca, one of its summer home ports, on June 30.

Early Arrival
AIDA said today their next ship, AIDAperla, will enter service two months earlier than announced. It will begin sailing a Western Mediterranean itinerary on July 1 from Palma de Mallorca and Barcelona.

AIDA has released their programs for October 2016 to October 2017, and are previewing programs through April 2018. Included is the inaugural program for AIDAperla, the sister to AIDA’s delayed new flagship, AIDAprima.
