Azamara Adds European Rail Option

Azamara is now extending their “Destination Immersion” concept of slower travel from their itineraries and ports of call to getting to or from the ship via a luxurious rail connection aboard the Venice-Simplon Orient-Express.

The pre- or post-cruise option will be offered next year to passengers boarding or disembarking their Azamara cruise at Venice.

What the Tourism Minister Has Forgotten

There was an interesting article in The Bahamas' Tribune 242 on Friday in which the Bahamas' Minister of Tourism, Dionisio D'Aguilar, talks about how the cruise lines “make all the money, and we have nothing."

That school of thought may say lots about why the Bahamas - or at least the major ports - may lose much of their cruise business in the coming years and why they are not a favorite among cruise passengers, many opting to stay aboard when their ship docks.

Costa neoClassica Leaves Fleet - Costa Victoria Leaves China

Costa said that one of its longest-serving ships, Costa neoClassica will leave the fleet on March 10, 2018 when it finishes its series of cruises between India and the Maldives.

Costa Victoria will leave China, where it has mainly sailed since 2012, to return to the Mediterranean to maintain capacity there during the summer of 2018.
